The Integrated Development Plan
The IDP entails processes through which a municipality, its constituencies, various sector departments, interested and affected parties come together to prepare clear objectives and strategies which serve to guide allocation and management of resources within the municipal area of jurisdiction. The Integrated Development Plan spans a five-year period. The IDP is used by the municipality to fulfil its role of “developmental local governance”. Central to this role are the objectives and strategies contained in the plan, which guides the municipality in the realm of: Municipal Budgeting Institutional re-structuring in order to fulfil the strategic intent of the plan Integrating various sectors (housing, land use, agriculture) with economic, social dimensions. Performance Management Systems The Integrated Development Plan for Lejweleputswa District Municipality was commissioned and finally adopted in 2002 in terms of the Municipal Systems Act No. 32 of 2000.
